Survivors Garden

Provides an online community for multiples with and without recovery issues, and for abuse survivors.  You do not have to be multiple to use the forums.

The site is operated by a multiple, who happens to have a mental health field degree and career, and a lot of "life experience" gained over about 19 years since first enlightenment about multiplicity.

What the Main Site is and is Not:
** This Survivors Garden site is intended for the sharing of support and information.
** It is not a "scientific research" site, nor is it operated by some well-known mental health organization.
** It clearly specifies where and where not any triggering-type statements can be posted.  The majority of the boards strictly forbid triggering content, and such content will be moved if found.

Membership:
Just requires that you go to the message forum and register there - that will also give you access to the chat rooms.  Anyone, whether member or not, may sign up for a Survivors Garden e-mail account.  You could actually sign up for an e-mail account first, then use that address for your member registration.

Points About Multiplicity Presented on the Site:

1. A Multiple is a multiple, not simply an individual who has an identity disorder that is in combination with a dissociative disorder - the American Psychiatric Association would have people believe that multiples do not really have more than one personality (MPD vs DID).

2. Multiplicity is not a disorder.  Post traumatic stress disorder is a disorder which a large percentage of multiples have, and it is the symptoms of that PTSD which cause problems, not the multiplicity.  Unfortunately, the psychiatric community convinces people otherwise.

3. Multiplicity is not always (though usually is) the result of child abuse.  Some multiples are born as multiples because that's the way their brains are set up.  People who are not multiple at birth but become multiples, may have a stronger natural human ability to adapt physically (neurophysiologically) to harsh environmental change than most people...  this comes under the concept of "survival of the fitest" and human evolution.

4.  If you feel as the American Psychiatric Association does, that you only falsely believe you have multiple personalities, feel free to apply the diagnosis of Disscoaitive Identity Disorder to yourself, but please do not apply it to anyone who knows they really are multiple and not just having some kind of delusion ("false belief") about themselves.  For an explanation of this, Click Here.
